Alex Trebek is thanking his supporters for an outpouring of well wishes following his announcement about his stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosis last week.
The longtime “Jeopardy” host said he’s received hundreds of thousands of messages, emails, tweets, texts, cards and letters from fans, former contestants and friends alike.

“Obviously I won’t be able to respond to all of you individually but I did want you to know that I do read everything I receive,” Trebek said in a video posted to his Twitter. “I am thankful for the kind words, the prayers and the advice you have offered and I’m extremely touched by the warmth you have expressed in your comments to me.”
He concluded the announcement by saying, “I’m a lucky guy.”
The 78-year-old acknowledged the low survival rate of the disease in his announcement last week but vowed to “fight.”
Trebek has already returned to work following the announcement, a “Jeopardy!” spokesperson told reporters earlier this week.
