Having Children Ages Women

One theory of aging suggests that the body prioritizes reproduction over lifespan

  • Scientists at Northwestern University found that the more children women in their early 20s have had, the more signs of cellular aging they show

  • This does not necessarily make their physical appearances any older

  • Pregnancy may put stress on cells that causes these 'aging' effects

  • These changes may indicate shorter lifespans, but the researchers insist that the differences they saw may 'wash out with time'
