Nintendo Direct 2019 News: Everything You Need To Know From Today's Event

Nintendo just wrapped up its own Direct presentation a couple weeks ago, and now it's announcing another one that's all about Pokemon.

The live-streaming event will air on the series' anniversary and will supposedly offer us some "new information" that fans won't "want to miss". Here's everything you need to know, including how to watch it online and what to expect.

When is Pokemon Direct?

The presentation will broadcast on 27 February.

What times does Pokemon Direct start?

It starts a 6am PT. Here are the different local times:

  • 6am San Francisco
  • 8pm New Delhi
  • 5:30pm Moscow
  • 3pm Barcelona
  • 2pm London
  • 9am New York

How to watch Pokemon Direct online

Per usual, Nintendo will host the stream. You can watch an embed above.

What to expect from Pokemon Direct

Let's keep in mind 27 February is important, as it is Pokemon Day, or the anniversary when Pokemon Red and Green first debuted in Japan.  And although Nintendo hasn't revealed any specific details, it did tease we will get about "seven minutes of new information" alongside a shot of three Pokéballs. Does that mean we'll get the the next generation, or Gen 8, of Pokemon games?

We know fans will likely want to get their first look at the upcoming 'core' Pokemon RPG for Switch. The Pokemon Company previously said this game would launch in the second half of 2019. And the latest Pokemon games, Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee, released on Switch last November.

So, we're due for some news.
